Title: Will a 4-125A fit in a SK510 air-system socket?
Post by: KI4YAN on November 17, 2013, 11:48:26 PM
Just grabbed an SK510 air-system socket off E-bay...didn't notice till it was too late that the 4-125A uses the SK410 socket.

Will the 4-125A/4-400A fit the same socket as the 4-1000 and 3-1000 tubes?

No, they are different sockets.   The 4X1 socket is slightly larger and the 4X1 pins are fatter.

Why not look for a 4X1 tube and step it up a notch?   You may be happy you got the wrong socket.... ;D

Well, if I don't nail down what I plan to do, it'll never get done. So, a single 4-125A modded by 4-65a's, with room in the RF deck for a second 4-125A OR replacing the 4-125A with a 4-250 or 4-400 at a later date, is the route I'll take.
