Title: Altec 1592 mike preamp help
Post by: Opcom on September 22, 2013, 08:36:37 PM
Does anyone have a schematic or manual for the Altec 1592 microphone preamp/mixer?

I have one that needs repair. I'm not sure how to wire it up properly. For sure it is broken tho'.

I want to stop using a hi-fi amp phono input as the mike preamp and use the right kind of equipment. Won't that be nice?

a start, with info on the modules...

this looks free after registration, and is linked from a site I know is legit as a source for manuals.

I use the 1592 mixer in my roadshow PA system.

It is a very robust unit, and being modular in the gain department, you can have all mics, all +4 dB 600Z, or mixed inputs.

Contact me if you don't land the lit.

Those were such great names "back in the day". Altec Lansing, Voice of the Theater, Pilot, Stromberg Carlson, Crown, Zenith Stratosphere, etc

Pulled mine out of the trash at a hamfest back in the 90's..  attached the manual.
