Shut down?  This is outrageous.  The government has a responsibility to be a reliable and constant source source of conspiracies!

Well I should as well confess. I won that big lottery about 5 months ago and bought it off Uncle for 10 cents on the dollar. I'll be changing my call sign soon and no greedy relatives and friends will bother me in AK. Top 40 and oldies, 60's acid rock at night, all AM & using the aurora for disco lights! Subsidized power, maintenance, and fuel as part of the agreement. They wanted it kept operational, in private hands, and available for access in case of a very a major emergency. Like the apocalypse. Easy decision.

And I thought my antenna was a cloud burner.

In my opinion it was a cloaked "Star-Wars" related experiment by the military to get some kind of edge on the Russians.  Imagine generating a plasma cloud that could fry the guidance system or engine control system of an ICBM incoming missile.  Alaska would be the perfect path to the USA.  I doubt they would spend that kind of money and effort on a hi-hi FB Jacques Cousteau adventure.....  ;D   Looks like it was a fail and they're moving on.

keep an eye on governmentliquidations.com. If the gear gets auctioned piece by piece, that's where it will be. writing the representatives about 'waste' in conjunction with this gear being scrapped might push the better things away from the bulldozer.

Each of the 96 or so transmitters under the wire array runs a pair of push pull 4CX10,000Ds in a unique high linearity amplifier built by Continental Electronics Corp. I remember seeing them lined up in test at the factory in 2007, the last batch of them.

We should apply for the drivers if in a separate package.  Ultra linyeear.

I'll miss HAARP. Sent in a reception report to them a few years back showing their signal on a timed/dated/location waterfall display copy.  Got a nice form letter back.  8)
