Title: Room to Roam on 40
Post by: WB6QKO on July 13, 2013, 01:45:27 AM
Had a nice QSO this evening with K4KYV and N5AEA on 7.287 following QSY from higher in the band due to broadcast QRM.  Good strategy seems to be to take advantage of many clear frequencies down to 7.260, rather than battle the broadcast powerhouses that make operation on or above 7.290 very difficult after 0400 GMT.

Good strategy.

I leave the transmitter parked on 7285 and slide lower if someone comes up on 7292 or so.

Very rarely will I center on 7295, because invariably someone will squeeze in at 7290 and no one has a good time.

Aren't VFOs wonderful? ; )
