Yeah, good movie, Paul. Think it was already  "played" several months ago on AMfone too.   Wonder what was the real purpose of the shot glasses?  Enhanced Tube count?  Crystal covers?

Boy, is that kid misusing that egg-beater. ;D
I used to wind coils by pulling wire up between my closed knees, keeping it taut while turning the coil form.  A slight angle insured aligned spooling. Only problem was tying it off without slack and getting a suddenly messed up tangle.  Took a little practice, a "hot thumb" and some pre-drilled holes.

Yeah i thought I recognized his sister.

At first glance the shot glasses were chassis insulators, seemed like.  I bet Grandpa didn't appreciate that.

That video has drawn a quarter million views according to the YT counter.

Of course, we've likely all seen Hallicrafter's Voice of Victory.

The cute actress in the cashmire sweater playing Jimmy's sister was Eleanor Counts, who appeared in quite a few movies and shorts in the 30s and 40s.  http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0183622/?ref_=tt_cl_t2
Swallowed a bottle of sleeping pills in 1950.  Sad.

AND the Ships Radio Operator was played by Clayton Moore - later famous for playing the Lone Ranger.

Wow, good intel.
So she was 21 in this 1939 movie.

Too bad how it ended for her.

My old eyes are telling me that the shot glasses are insulating the tank variable cap.  My family was teetotal (sp?) so I didn't have that option.

Got distracted after the video played with this
