Title: Meter spill Post by: W7TFO on June 01, 2013, 02:27:45 PM Recently liberated from the local electronics 2nd hand store.
Westinghouse models SX and SY, almost 7" diameter. Jeez, I love the big ones! :D Destined for future projects around here. 73DG Title: Re: Meter spill Post by: KL7OF on June 01, 2013, 02:44:37 PM wowzer!.. Those are very cool...

Title: Re: Meter spill Post by: Opcom on June 01, 2013, 06:34:41 PM Good score Dennis!! you may have to start you own "someone keeps giving me all this junk" topic. How about some close-ups later so we can marvel at them and be envious?
If you will measure the diameter across the back, front, and the thickness, I can see if a similar 5000A RF ammeter here would fit into that collection! Title: Re: Meter spill Post by: WA3VJB on June 02, 2013, 09:39:17 AM They'd make a good 12 meter rig.
Title: Re: Meter spill Post by: Todd, KA1KAQ on June 02, 2013, 12:38:44 PM Nice collection, D. You could start your own power station control board circa 1920s-30s. I've got some large slate panels with copper switch gear that would go well with them.
Been trying to build up a smaller set, maybe half or 1/3rd the size of those for the HB project we've discussed. Not as easy to find as your average Simpson. ;) Title: Re: Meter spill Post by: WBear2GCR on June 02, 2013, 08:47:18 PM Very BUZZARDLY! What does the one in the upper leftmost area say on it?? _-_- Title: Re: Meter spill Post by: W7TFO on June 02, 2013, 09:19:02 PM That one is a power factor model, with sharpie writing on the front saying it was taken out of service in 1962.

Those are some sweet meters. Knowing you, you might not even need to change the scales... ;D ;D ;D |
