Title: Tube Sources - Philip's Question No. 1245
Post by: ka4koe on May 06, 2013, 03:08:07 PM
Anyone have a favorite small tube source (ie non-transmitting type)? I've noticed that the costs for small receiving type tubes has gone thru the roof lately with the tremendous demand by the audio hi-fi group.

Antique Electronic Supply's prices appear to have fallen victim as well.

No cheap Chinese or Russian tubes; preferable any American NOS; ie RCA, Sylvania, GE, etc.

Tnx.

Philip

Hamfests for sure. It takes some effort and time though. Dayton is coming up..the Atlanta hamfest is on the June 1st weekend, and I'm sure there are others in your area of the country. There is a "Wanted" section on this site.

Not sure if I'll make the Atlanta Hamfest or not. Would need to transport the bride, K4SMN as well.

Thanks for the recommendations!
