Title: Weekend High
Post by: WA3VJB on April 19, 2013, 06:59:14 PM
This weekend might be one of the last through Summer where we get Canadian high pressure and prospective LACK of STATIC on 80m.

Will be powered up and looking ...

... once this stuff gets offshore:

Right now there sure isn't a lack of static. Right now I'm on 3885 with Rob, K5UJ, and it's hard copying him through the static crashes.

Heard you around 9:30 EDT on 3885 calling CQ. Sounded like you have lots of highs and no lows on your audio. Then there was the "helpful" comment from down lower. As far as I could tell, you weren't splattering.

Yea, before that I was checking out my own signal using the W4AX online SDR near Atlanta and I could tell on the waterfall that it looked like my audio was mostly highs and no lows, but wasn't any wider than normal either. Then later that group on 3875 says I'm splattering all over them ???

Tubes are lit if you're around. /8A

Be glad to take a second listen.

Band condx were good.  Talked with Dave, W2ZZA near Buffalo through about 9a, and had another station about 30 miles away through about 9:30.
