Title: Beautiful conditions this morning on 15 meter AM
Post by: W1AEX on February 05, 2013, 01:48:29 PM
I listened to Dave - W6PSS for a bit this morning and then fired up below him on 21.420 MHz. Within a few seconds of tuning up I received a very strong call from Ed - N5AEA down in Melissa Texas. We had a nice chat for about half an hour and then the band began to change around. At times Ed was S-9 + 15 dB. The recording shows a very deep fade about a minute and a half into it but Ed was easy copy in spite of the changing propagation.

Wow!  Band has been jumping all day today what with the AM Xmtr Rally and all. As I am typing this, WB6QKO in Santa Monica is strapping in well after sunset here in CT.  Had a lot of fun with the HT-37 and SX-71, 25 watts into a rotatable dipole. Going to have to hang out on 15 more often and get the SB200 going again  for a bit more strap with the old Halli...Larry had me about 4 S units down from my neighbor down the block Joe , N1VIV, who was running a FT100 and an amp at about 100 watts carrier into a hex beam.
