Title: Thanks go out to the AWA Top Band Net folks
Post by: WA2ROC on February 05, 2013, 07:07:50 AM
Last night I was talking to several folks on 160 AM and one had to leave to join the Monday Night AWA Top Band Net.  He said it was mainly SSB folks but AMers were welcome.  So I gave it a try.

Net control made a point to mention that AMers were welcome and to try to zero beat on frequency for the benefit of members that had their SSB radios set for 1.945 MHZ.  I checked in and was greeted by just about everyone that had checked in before me, many with positive comments about my audio and signal strength.  I took that as a compliment since I was only using my Viking II hooked to a 100 foot doublet about 40 feet in the air.

I want to thank all that were on the AWA net for taking the time to make those comments and I would recommend other AMers to join the group on Monday evenings, 8 PM EST, 1.945 MHZ, foe a nice discussion group that welcomed any mode of operation, even CWers!

See y'all next week!
