Title: The 807 in Push-pull
Post by: IZ0MFI on January 14, 2013, 11:50:08 AM
Hello,
In last weekend i've ended and fired up my selfmade ultimate AM golddays transmitter builted around two couples of 807' beam tetrode in Push pull configuration  8) This tx use a classic line-up with e.c.o. oscillator (6an8) followed to doubler (6ba6) and 6T6 quadrature driver (instead of 6V6 tube). The two 807 delivers more of 75 watts of carrier supplied at 700 vdc and good AM linearity even with 100% of modulation from others 807 p.p. in AB2 class and ART-13 modulation transformer. The RF pa stage have variable link coupling to the out with very smooth tuning and no any spurious product even without any neutralization.

Very nice layout and construction!

Do you have a schematic to share?

Nice to see all this interest in the 100-150 watt class of modulators and transmitters.

I'm still stuck in the Hi Power mode but as I get older, light weight stuff is becoming more appealing!

That is really nicely put together, you get three  ;D ;D ;D

Thank You very much guys,
I am very honored  :D to receive the compliments of this famous and active net!
Sorry but the general wiring diagram is not 'available because it' s really very classic derived from the various suggestions of some ARRL Handbook (1941,1959,1966..) I hope to...may be in the next.
This work is ben retailed from the normal social life of a father of three kids with a wife who works ;-) (pool, gym, music, school commitments and, of course, my work until 6 pm) and lasted approximately 2 months excluding the procurement of vintage components  :P.
