Title: W1TAV 50,000 Watts of AM (Sort of)
Post by: W1TAV on December 07, 2012, 12:11:12 PM
Just having a little fun at WBZ Boston yesterday, courtesy of fellow HAM W1DJG,  broadcast engineer for the radio side of 'BZ.      He didn't let me hit the PTT!  :)

Cool enough !

Should have gotten some of the air talent to make some celebrity ID's for TAV Radio.

I miss listening to Steve LeVeille as I drive into work in the mornings.

There was something about his down-to-earth interaction with callers, and the sound of his voice on the massive blowtorch WBZ AM signal strapping down the coast to me this time of year.

My generation's Larry Glick, really.  If you know, you know.

Yeah! Got sit in the saddle!  Haven't heard you on much lately.  The 75A2 gets a daily exercise

The two walls shown look hard and reflective.  I hope the opposite ones are sound absorbent - or else the room must sound awfully reverberant ...

Well I didn't get to hit the PTT, :'( I did get to turn on the Harris DX10 (Backup transmitter at the studio) into the dummy load.  :) The studio is  the same one the Steve Leveille  and many of the other greats of 'BZ have held court over the years.  ;D
