Title: Mornings 7120 low power AM
Post by: VE3LYX on November 13, 2012, 07:35:16 AM
I will be on today wed and thursday at 8 am 9 am and 10am local time testing  homebrew low power Am rig. It is about 20 watts input. I am using a carbon mic electro mechanical circuit so it will have that old military sound.  Rig is a 50L6 screen modulated by 1/2 a 12sl7 (other half is the VFO) and is driving a 6l6 which is driving a paralel pair of 6l6EH tall boys. The triple 6l6 amp is link coupled to the exciter and output is fed through a link winding to a Pi style HD tuner Antenna is a 1/4 inverted L ( really a sagging slanted L  but it loads well )
Any reports would be welcome. A Qso would be even better
