Title: 10 Meters Hot Today Post by: Pete, WA2CWA on October 18, 2012, 01:43:48 PM Had a great morning on 10 meters AM. Band opened around 9:30 AM into Europe. Snagged on AM included: OR0A, GW8TBG, DB5ZP, UU5AI, G8ETD, G4ZXN, G4CZU, EA1GGX, UZ2HZ, G4FHI, RK6DP, GW0AGZ, GU4LJC, G7OSR, MM0OPX, GW3TMP, G3XGW, G3YBY, SM0ZCQ, G3VWH, SM2A, AND ON3KA. A few others got lost in the QSB and even some QRM.

Title: Re: 10 Meters Hot Today Post by: K9PNP on October 18, 2012, 03:09:10 PM Sounded good here in SW Indiana. My PW mobile couldn't seem to do any good. Maybe due to the QRM as Pete said. I'm going out to the mobile in the parking lot here at the station periodically to see what's going on. It was interesting down on the SSB portion that there were multiple stations on one freq or another and lots of open space in between.
Title: Re: 10 Meters Hot Today Post by: Pete, WA2CWA on October 18, 2012, 03:53:32 PM FB. What time did the Yerp opening end? Things started to die off after 11 AM EDT but I heard several G stations in local QSO's after that. Several of the stations I worked where 1st time AM stations. Probably looking for a clear frequency and found me and had to find the AM button/switch/lever/door. MUF all day has been around 74 MHz but no contacts on 6 meters. Title: Re: 10 Meters Hot Today Post by: W2VW on October 18, 2012, 04:02:34 PM Tnx Pete. Look for Oz around dinnertime. Worked yesterday.
I'll be there if this bus isn't delayed. Title: Re: 10 Meters Hot Today Post by: K5MIL on October 24, 2012, 11:00:11 AM G8NOF comming in with good signal on 29.4, unfortunately the Ranger is on the bench at the moment.

Title: Re: 10 Meters Hot Today Post by: AF9J on October 24, 2012, 03:17:35 PM Hmmmmm ......... must try to get out of work at a decent time for a change, so I can get home in time, to give the FT-301SD (w/accessory piggyback amp - 30 watts of carrier via collector modulation [the SS version of plate modulation]) a workout on 29.0. C'mon 10! Do me a favor, and stay open!

Title: Re: 10 Meters Hot Today Post by: W1RKW on October 28, 2012, 03:45:15 PM 10m is hot today with the SS corn test. 29.000 is plagued with slop bucketeers but at least it's active. In fact, 10m is active from 28.300 well beyond 29.000. I haven't seen that in a very long time. It's a good time to occupy the freq with AM.

Title: Re: 10 Meters Hot Today Post by: Pete, WA2CWA on October 28, 2012, 05:03:57 PM I played tug-of-war with a bunch of European contesters Saturday morning between 29.0 and 29.1. Fun stuff. No operating today. Took down all the antennas off the tower this morning in 3 1/2 hours. Even the wire antennas are now laying on the ground. Lots of fun stuff.
