Today is  moving day for the 300G. ,
All the iron has been removed but it is still going to be a chore.  Hope I haven't forgotten anything.  Updates to follow.

I'm hoping everything will go smooth for you today Roy.  I can't wait to hear the "new" rig!!  If I recall correctly, you will still need to convert it... what's the plans? 160 through 40?

Take some photos !!!

One thing I would remind you to be careful about -- the sides of the transmitter.
Collins used some compression fittings that pinch some flanges on the main transmitter cabinet to hold the sides to that cabinet without any visible retaining hardware.

It is very tempting to leverage the transmitter underneath either side, rather than from the front or back, and this can dislodge the entire side panel, and even bend the sheet metal at the lowest part of the side.

The sides on Ser. No. 33 that I have at home are not very pretty, and I haven't put them on.  I did realize the ones on Ser. No. 147 were vulnerable this way during the move from WFOY Florida into the radio museum in Maryland.

Anyway, good luck, and otherwise be very respectful of the 1300 lbs you'll be efforting.

300G safely in its new home, my shack.  Now to get it uprighted and set in position.  The actual move was really not too bad, plenty of help and planning.

Door (250)pounds finally back on, side panels reattached and in final position.  The only casuality was 2 broken standoffs on one of the inductors.
The small tags are inspection tags dated April 27, 1950.

Now the real fun begins!
