Title: W8TOW Website closing
Post by: Steve W8TOW on February 25, 2012, 01:28:29 PM
Hi Gang, just a FYI, I've decided to close my own website at w8tow.com effective
end of March. :'(    I enjoyed posting stories and tech details over the past 10 years but
my enthusiasm for maintaining the site with up-to-date stories has faded.
thanks for the interest and support over the years.
Perhaps I'll post more tech stories here now  ;)

Geez, Steve, this was the only site I thought was yours ---

http://amfone.net/Glag/

But then I see Tom, NI8G still listed on there.

A few weekends ago I worked NI8G, which now is the Thomas Edison club station. He passed away a while ago and they've taken the call in memoriam.

Anyway, nice shot of your new home and best wishes for getting settled and being able to spend time with us on the radio.

Hi Steve,

Yeh, share your stuff here.  Big audience and lotsa good technical folks.  Maintaining a website is a major effort. and you need the extra time for tinkering anyways.  HI

Yea, I had LOTS of stuff on w8tow.com for years but Jeff, you are so right, keeping
it fresh and interesting is WORK! What little time I have to play I'd rather be sitting with a
soldering iron in my hand rather than typing on a keyboard!

That is too much like work!
glad ya had a good time at LE Boatanchors!

I know what you mean Steve!! I have kx5jt.net and was seriously thinking about just letting it all lapse and not messing with it... and in fact, did for a few days when Paul, WA3VJB messaged me saying HEY!! YOUR SITE IS EXPIRED!!!

So people actually DO visit!!! I went ahead and renewed it for now.... I need to try harder to keep it fresh I guess!!
