Things have gotten busy! Now there are QSOs on 21420, 21430 and 21440. Hearing VE6CQ coming through loud and clear.

W0VMC is 20-over-9 at times on 21420!

Robert was working W0LS when I left. Worked 'VMC for the better part of an hour with a few deep fades, the rest of the time he was LOUD. The grid drive started acting up in the 32V so I signed. It tuned up pretty easily into the 40m dipole, though.

First 15m contact I can recall in about 20 years. TNX to Steve for the alert.

It's opened up just about every morning and afternoon lately sometimes with fading, sometimes pretty solid.

Not too strong of signals this afternoon... I can hear Clark TRP with a station that is unheard.... I tried with WA0FDV but it was difficult at best with signals on the "edge" of being received with fades in and out.

Funny how it can go.... W0VMC and I had an armchair copy QSO right after the difficulty with the other stations... but he was not his usual 30 over the entire time... there was some fading today.

15 meter early evening activity may be something to check out with the slowly improving solar numbers. This evening I worked WA1OIR from 23:15 to about 23:50 GMT. He was running a barefoot DX-60 into his A4S beam. He was peaking S-7 into my simple 1/4 wave vertical.

There was plenty of elbow room without any slopbucket QRM. Nice "quiet" condx. It was a real treat and I think I'll be spending more early evening time on 15 as opposed to 40 since today saw an SFI of 140 with a sunspot count of 162.

Lots of TEP action (North/South direction) on both 15 and 10 meters late this afternoon. Now 15 and 10 are open from the west coast to the Far East and Australia and still some TEP action down into South America.

FYI, 15 has been in really good shape in the late afternoon and seems to be peaking near sundown. I have been on the past few nights on .420 and .425 working "first time AMers" who respond to my CQs. Condx seem to be running north/south at that time with ZERO noise level. Please check out!

I just tried calling on 21.420 and got nuttin.  It's not the end of the world, but I was hoping someone would have come back to me.  Never talked on 15 before.  That reminds me:  I have a 15 meter dipole that came with my first 735.  Never have put it up, but maybe I will.

Yeah.  I picked a heckuva time to get into AM.  Band conditions have been really bad lately.  Still, I'm not letting that deter me.

I was on 21.427 Mhz today mid afternoon. Worked several stations including Brad WS4B in Florida. My diagonal loop is getting out fairly well, 16' Horiz, 8' vertical, fed at a top corner. Zero RFI and low RCV noise. Same antenna on 20m does well with corner opposite feedpoint open circuit. Feeding with RG-8X + common mode choke. SWR on 15M is 2.5:1 about 15' away from feedpoint. On 20m it is higher, but the 'Z' is 75 ohms, easily matched with tuner. On 40m, the antenna as configured for 20m is an excellent RCV antenna as the noise is down about 40DB from my 80m Windom, but the signal is down only about 10 db from the Windom.
