Title: LS-47X Transformer
Post by: KE6DF on November 14, 2011, 10:53:05 PM
I just acquired a UTC LS-47X transformer.

I have info on the LS-47, which is a driver tranny, but not on the LS-47X.

Does anyone know the difference?

Among the input transformers (LS-10, LS-10X, LS-12, LS-12X), the X models have additional shielding from hum but are otherwise very similar.

Perhaps that's what the X means here also, but it doesn't quite make sense in a  high level driver transformer as it probably wouldn't be prone to picking up hum anyway.
