Title: Splatter from 11 meter FREEBAND Post by: KX5JT on October 25, 2011, 05:09:00 PM I kept hearing some splatter up around 29.000 through 29.100... at first I thought I was at the edge of some signal coming down but I followed it all the way down to some Spanish speakers way down on 27.770 sideband... MY LORD what a horrible signal!

We've got some taxicabs, with drivers speaking languages other than English, in both Baltimore and Washington running considerable power and I figured it out when they'd say street names. This was when there wasn't any Dog X-Ray either, so I can only imagine the geography they're messing up with propagation. I think there's a group that maintains an "Intruder Watch" function of some kind to document and report to the FCC, but I don't know whether they chase folks when they're not primarily operating on Amateur Service spectrum.
