Title: What is it? Stancor mod iron
Post by: KB0CIM on May 12, 2011, 09:34:56 PM
I dug up a Stancor transformer, someone labeled it "811 P-P 100W". Its small, About the size of a ART-13 mod transformer, just a little smaller. Same can style, terminals out the bottom. Primary has CT, no CT on sec. I can read some markings as follows... D.C. Res PRI 170 Ohms, D.C. Res. Sec 215 Ohms, Freq resp 200-5000, Test 3000 Volts, IR 1022. Also says T-102 PRI. Z-6000 SEC. Z-6000 Turns Ratio 1-1 Terminals are labeled 1-3 Pri (2 CT), 4-5 Sec. #6 N/C Any ideas what it really is? Another stamp may say "UADF-301089".

I should have looked more, found another one.. Collins PN# 677N201 20 Watts 6K to 6K 3KV test. Same pins as unknown stancor, looks the same with the Ohm meter too.

Yep, TCS it is...

T-102 and TR-1022 as noted in the manual... And printed on the "unknown Stancor".

I agree,  I have one, they are 20 watters.  They were made by Stancor, not sure who made the ones with the Collins label, probably Stancor made those too.

Yep, I have one and I used it back in the late 50's to modulate my AT-1 that I had on the CB band. I build an outboard power supply & modulator using two 6L6 tubes with 816 Mercury rectifiers. Of all the stuff that has come & gone over the years, I still have that home brew modulator.

I need to get it going again!!!

Wonder how many AT-1s were ever used on the Chicken Band.

One in original condition fetched big bux not too long ago on ePay.
