It is late, wet, and cool but signs of Spring are finally here.

You're not gonna let that cat after the wabbits, Rodger?

Rodger,

Does your cat 'chitter' when he or she sees the animals outside? I've known a couple of cats that seem to just get beside themselves when they see a critter outside and can't get to it. They make a chittering noise, almost like a squirrel. Not all of them seem to do it, my two don't, but one of my girlfriend's does.

JN,

These rabbits have "protected status" since Anna (age 7) has spotted them.  One of my first tasks of the morning is to make sure there is no carnage on the sidewalk near their hangout.

Kevin,

Our Siamese cat (Daphne) is the queen of the quivering jaw when prey is about.  It is fun to watch.  The black cat in the photo just watches.  My other Siamese (Siam Sam) hangs out in the radio room and I believe he may be the reincarnation of Gandhi.  He rolls around trying to get rabbits to come over and chirps back at the birds but he doesn't like deer.  The only time he has done the quivering jaw routine was when there were 5 deer outside of his basement window.  I admire his sudden macho behavior threatening a small herd of deer including a very nice buck :)

Yes!  Strangest darned sound.  I think she (Sarah) is clicking her teath along with a gutteral sound.
