Title: it's like 75 meters today
Post by: W2PFY on December 09, 2010, 11:10:57 PM
This is the way it was and incredibly, the operator was able to run his rig just after having a large zit removed from his face.

I love that TR switch.

WOW those old movies. Micky Rooney and no fading in the VE3 signal. And they mentioned GOD in the movie.
Amateur radio was a rage back in those days. Every young boy was talking about Ham radio and wanted to build something to get on the air.
Thanks,,,,,,,,I see other "Ham movies" there

"I know how we can get word to Mom without upsettin' her.  By using a HAM..."

Sounds like a posting right off QRZ.com.  ;D

I recall an old World Book Encyclopaedia (remember those?) entry about amateur radio, circa 1950. It said something to the effect that ham operators were "mostly boys and young men".
