Title: McKay-Dymek DR101 Gen Coverage Receiver
Post by: w3jn on September 30, 2010, 11:38:35 AM
OK, who among you didn't drool over one of these cool receivers back in the early 1980s? Yes, it LOOKS like a stereo receiver, but it's actually a professional-grade receiver with Collins mechanical filters, and a special low-distortion AM detector.

This particular radio is a bit of a mystery - the front says "DR33C", the back says its a "DR22C", but it IS a DR101C as evidenced by the slew tuning. The 33 and 22 have decade switches which make band cruising a pain - the variable tuning rate in this radio make cruising a breeze - and it's one of the BEST sounding receivers for AM listening I've ever used. More info can be found here --> http://www.dxing.com/rx/dr44.htm

It has a few scratches on the face and top cover. Unfortunately the wood side panels are missing (I was going to make some, never got around to it). And there's a bit of peeling film on the faceplate. Electrically it's working 100%, with the optional 375 HZ and 1200 HZ Collins mechanical filters, as well as the stock 2.1 KHZ USB/LSB Collins filters and 4KHz and 8 KHz ceramics. It has a mute jack, so you can use it in conjunction with a transmitter.

I'd like to get $550 for this radio - pickup in Mt. Airy, MD or I can deliver to NEARFest for fee. Shipping shouldn't be too expensive as it's fairly light. PM for more details, etc.
