It is hot and very dry here in Spartanburg, SC and we actually had a little thunderstorm - but not much rain. When I was in NM, it was easy to think it was a low flying plane! Nothing like clear air.

Was going to get the telescope out here for a look at Jupiter, but with the heat and humidity, the atmosphere would be way too wiggly. Did see it once years ago along with 5 of its moons. Don't know where in the northeast you're talking about, but hit 90 today with high humidity and a nasty set of thunderstorms rolled through here about 8:30PM.
