It is a very impressive construction job indeed ! Looks like a complete rig - with the D104 plugged into the front panel. I'd sure like to hear this thing on the air sometime.

There are 8 MOSFETs in the RF amplifier, however they are smaller (considerably) than the FQA11N90 (only 500 volt devices as opposed to 900 volts). So, Rene is running the RF amplifier at a reduced voltage. I believe he gets around 200 watts, which is about right for the lower voltage - and keeping the same current.
Anyway, interesting to see what others are doing around the world. I just sent out 3 more kits to other countries: One to Australia, one to Canada and one to France. I've sent kits to England, the Netherlands, several to Canada, and at least one other to Australia. There are probably other countries, but I don't remember at the moment. I have sent out over 100 kits since the start of this thing - although I don't hear 100 class E rig on the air... they may be out of communication range with New England. New ones come out of the woodwork from time to time..and some people have several transmitters.... Title: Re: Wow ! I use 4423s in my 160 meter rig to drive the predrivers. 200 watts from IRF540s is pretty good power on 75. I run just over 300 with 14- IRF840s AMfone - Dedicated to Amplitude Modulation on the Amateur Radio Bands
