I liked Jimmie Mulligan's FB cake pan xmtr. And the op in the plane sending a "73" before he crashed....

Pretty good stuff about Ham radio.

Now I know how to wind a coil using an egg beater.

It was actually a rage in those days to be into this hobby.

There are folks today who are clueless about RF or radio and how it works

Funny how some things never change. I still have deadly vapors in my shack, only not from a leaky stove! lol

This guy could teach us all what to do and what not to do. I'm in favor of NOT in this case.

Absolute Insanity!  And we are told cellphones are a distraction?  I wonder where that HT would end up if the driver side airbag deploys?

I don't have any pictures, but we had a similar mobile menagerie visit Fort Wayne in the early sixties.  As I recall, the fellow had a big Cadillac equipped with two or three G-76s, a complete Collins S-Line, plus many many more rigs which entirely filled the car.  It was a sight to see!  I believe he also had a complete separate electrical system that powered the radios.  Hey...that was old tube-type gear and it took a lot of power to run it.

Anyone else remember that guy?

Boy, do I feel cheap!!  All I have are a collection of boat anchors, 1 tower, and a bunch of (primarily) wire and coax.  Beau coup dollars there.
