Title: Re: EARLY HAM VIDEO 1939 Post by: flintstone mop on December 17, 2009, 11:12:33 AM Pretty good stuff about Ham radio.
Now I know how to wind a coil using an egg beater. It was actually a rage in those days to be into this hobby. There are folks today who are clueless about RF or radio and how it works Fred Title: Re: EARLY HAM VIDEO 1939 Post by: k4kyv on December 17, 2009, 01:37:43 PM Pretty good stuff about Ham radio. I still have deadly vapors in my shack, only not from a leaky stove! lol

As I recall, the fellow had a big Cadillac equipped with two or three G-76s, a complete Collins S-Line, plus many many more rigs which entirely filled the car. It was a sight to see! I believe he also had a complete separate electrical system that powered the radios. Hey...that was old tube-type gear and it took a lot of power to run it.
Anyone else remember that guy? 73, Jack, W9GT Title: Re: EARLY HAM VIDEO 1939 Post by: KE7NL - Jack on December 17, 2009, 03:44:17 PM WHY?????
