Title: Realistic Highball-2 dual impedance mic
Post by: KK4RF on October 25, 2009, 11:23:46 AM
Gentlemen,
I recently found an old Realistic Highball-2 dual impedance microphone. I took it apart and found that it has a small audio-type transformer wired into it. If I wanted to use the mike at the high-impedance needed for an old tube AM rig, would I want to unhook the transformer and just run the cord directly to the 2 leads from the mike element? That would seem like the thing to do but I wondered if anybody there has used one of these mikes. Any help greatly appreciated.
