Ken - K6FC has written up a nice article on his recent Ranger restoration effort. Lots of good info in it. Check it out at the link below.

Ken really turned a sow's ear into a silk purse.  That thing was really beat when he got it.

Great writeup - the switch wiring details and clear photos are extremely helpful.

 Good stuff, nicely done.

Thanks for taking so much time to document and share.

One change I like to add is a relay to switch the transformer primary. It seems there are a lot of Rangers with the Primary AC contacts on the function switch badly erroded. Often that duty has been handed off to a hardware store toggle switch mounted somewhere near the poor Vikings head. Some of the more "thoughtful" types mount a small toggle in the crystal cover. When possible I like to transplant a fresh contact wiper from a donor switch into the original . I then add a small 120 volt AC relay at the rear apron and let it assume the duty of switching the AC power.

I wish there were some before pictures so we could see what it looked like prior to the 'spiritual cleansing'  ;)

That's a beautiful piece of work by Ken. In addition to the interior restoration, the exterior work on the front panel look flawless.
