These guys are paid an average of $150,000 a year, can take unscheduled "rests" when they get "tired", and then work overtime. The port of Piraeus has seen a 75% reduction in container traffic since 2007 due in part to it its extremely poor reputation as being an expensive bottleneck, in the shipping world.
