Hi Gary,

I am running AT&T DSL Extreme, and AMfone.net usually loads in less than one second, never as much as two seconds.

This site loads very fast.  A fraction of a second.

Hi Gary,

My ISP is Cablevision Optimum Online and the load time is invariably <2 seconds. Plus the reliability/availability of this service is extremely high, with virtually no downtime after 8 years of usage.

Bruce

Gary,

Verizon DSL, 2 seconds max....

It;s one of the slowest that I've visited so far...

I'm on satellite, and with the propagation delay, on a good day,  it takes about 5 seconds to fully load. Sometimes more ( as much as 10secs), but that's just the way the steenkin satellite crud works...

Generally only about 1Mbs

Less than 1 second and is fast and consistent.  I am in a rural area connected via 5.4 Ghz wireless-generally around 1.2-1.5 Mb speed.

Load time normally less than 2 seconds.  Using cable mostly on wireless router which my computer says is running at 54 meg.  I have yet to find the site down; much better than some.

a couple seconds if my site is not busy with guests. There is some delay from the ads, but those come from other servers than AMFONE so this is counted without the googlesyndication script.

AT&T ADSL, Dallas TX
600Kb upstream
6MB downstream

2-3 seconds max here

OTE Greece DSL

At work it can be very slow - but that's because our internet gateway is thru the US and is shared with thousands of other people.

I use Speakeasy DSL, and I'm just about exactly between Boston and Providence RI.

I cleared the browser cache and restarted, after which it took a little over four seconds to load the splash page.

G,
ATT DSL basic here at the home QTH is about 1 to 2 seconds and it's faster than Google considering AMFone's front page has more content than Google's.

At work with all the filtering General Dynamics has is about the same and still load time is faster than Google as well.

Your sight is about as efficient as they come IMO.

Good Job OM!

I think he wanted to know how fast the site loads on your computer, not how long it takes the server to package the page to send to you.

-------

I am seeing some pretty fast load times from you guys,,,,
I wonder if all of you cleared the site from your cache first?
Mine is purged every day, no page stays in the temp folder, so has to load from 'scratch' every day.

Though I'm sure I still see lowest speeds 'cause of the latency delay with satellite.

Can't wait for the local's to run fibre through here, at least it won't be Verizon!

1 to 3 seconds, depends on the computer.  Faster on the newer Toshiba, slower on the old Dell.  Fiber with the local phone company and wireless network in the house.

I wonder if all of you cleared the site from your cache first?

I closed the page, emptied the cache, then clicked on the bookmark.  It loaded in less than 2 seconds, but was a little more sluggish than when I tried yesterday.  It probably did load from the cache.  It totally slipped my mind to clear the cache before I ran the test yesterday.

Those "bottom of the page" numbers have nothing to do with how fast the page loads.....
Only how fast the server was able to prep the page for sending etc.

Mine says .087 seconds... but took 3 seconds to load.

Thanks for the input.

I had a report that the site would not fully load and I needed to determine if it was user side or server side.

it might be the ad servers. I don't know much about it, but some (other) sites seem to load things in such an order that till the ads are there, the whole content is not displayed right. I don't know if this is random or is somehow programmed either by accident of where the code calling the ads is placed or on purpose since some sites want to 100% make sure you watch the bazillion ads while they load. But that is not seemingly the case here. Could be the person that is reporting it has a slow PC that chokes a little on scripts and the like. I'd bet $$ it is not the fault of your AMFONE server or the connection.

The server we have has been extremely reliable.

The consistency is all due to the dedicated server we use here on AMfone. It costs more than a shared server but since we changed over almost 5 years ago the only times we were down were scheduled events.

Thanks again for the input
