One adult polar bit her several times after she plunged into the moat, police said Zoo workers tossed rescue rings toward the woman to hoist her out and distract polar bears swimming nearby, said Goerg Gebhard, a Berlin police officer. At one point the woman fell back into the water and was grabbed by a bear before she was eventually hoisted to safety. there are a few animals out there that look at humans as food. Polar bears are one of them, they are huge, increadbly strong and well armed. Why would anyone WANT to get near one???? She might go after the zoo though, like the families of those idiot kids who made a nighttime visit to the tiger pen in a Kalyfornia zoo last year.
