Title: NC 240-d, need jumper connections acc'y socket
Post by: Fred k2dx on March 15, 2009, 04:46:56 PM
Apparently there are several AC power jumpers required for the accesory socket. Not sure if the primary is 110/220 maybe? I need the connections. Can anyone help?

Fred,

Take Bill up on the manual offer and be aware that if you did not get the matching speaker for the NC-240D you will need to add an external audio output transformer (suitable for push/pull 6V6 tubes, around 10K, to you speaker impedance).  There is no output transformer in the receiver itself.  The full B+ voltage appears at the speaker terminal so make sure you are clear on the hookup before moving forward with it.

X2 requires a dummy plug with pin 3 shorted to pin 4 and pin 1 shorted to pin 7 for normal operation.  The B+ terminals are available on the back for receiver muting and they are in parallel with the front standby control.

Ok fine. Thanks guys... yes I do have the matching spkr - so I realized that it was a HiZ output but didn't know B+ was present. Kind of thought it was a 600 ohm output. The shorting plug has one wire pulled out, three altogether that go to a small 4 pin amphenol plug on the other end that I suppose must be for a t/r relay. I could see that the AC went to the accesory socket and needed to do do something more for continuity.

No, I don't have a manual. I thought I had got one but apparently not (it's been a while since I got the rx). Thanks for the quick replies! Bill I will take you up on the offer of a .pdf.

I'm working on the new shack and wanted to listen on the 240d.
