Title: ????Transmitting mica capacitor current ratings????
Post by: W1VD on March 12, 2009, 09:17:08 AM
Been asking around for current ratings on transmitting micas but have come up empty handed. See pix of the types below. They are all stamped with the voltage rating but only the large flange mount has a current stamp.

Everyone I talk to seems to have a least one jar of them. The types in mine are 9H, 10, CM45B, 4LS, M, 4S, 1650, A2, 9, H, CM50B, 1550 etc...manufacturers are Sangamo, Cornell-Dubilier, Pilot, Aerovox, Faradon (RCA) etc.

Found some info on bigger transmitting micas but not on the smaller units. http://www.cde.com/catalogs/hvolt-appGuide.pdf (http://www.cde.com/catalogs/hvolt-appGuide.pdf) . Would be nice if to have similar curves for all types. Suppose I could try calling CDE...wonder if there are any OTs left...

Mainly interested in the rating for the A2 / 9H which is the capacitor at top center ...but am curious about the others. Any info would be appreciated.
