Title: UTC S-47 Plate Tranny Post by: KB3DKS on March 02, 2009, 04:00:23 AM Awhile back I remember a discussion on the aspects of using a common or a seperate supply for modulator and final.
To achieve over 100% a higher mod voltage was needed. I have a UTC S-47 Plate Multitap 3K, 2.5K, 2K CT 1275/1050/825 @ 300ma DC and could it not be configured using the 1275 DC thru its own rectifier and filter as the mod supply and then use the 1050 also with it's own rectifier and filter for the RF? This would give the advantages of a common supply some better regulation and filtering of a dual supply along with greater modulation headroom. Just an idea for a nice tranny.
