From us to a low power TV translator or TV station nearby we may calculate the path loss. Click the line and view the TV transmit ERP and reduce it to our Amateur power ERP. Fortunately before February there are still terrain losses shown for wavelengths down to channel 2. Its fun to add an ASL height entry and see what happens to path losses from our ground level to up a tower or rooftop. Included with losses are number of knife edges and a visual terrain profile. Remember that knife losses become worse as we go higher in frequency. Also allows you to quickly determine TV reception available with different receive antenna heights and antenna gains usually between the February digital channels 7-60+.
