Title: sp-600 RECAP
Post by: N9NEO on December 22, 2008, 12:05:16 PM
Greetings AM brothers.

I need a link to the SP-600 instructions to recap the chassis.  I'm down to 4 left of the ones I can see.  Looking for the hard to find ones.

regards,
NEO

54 total, Bob - good luck!  Here's a nice article on this unpleasant task:

Dont forget the rf deck and take a real close look at the antenna coil in the rf deck. Theres a 50/50 chance that its burnt. I have done 11 of these from the JX-1 to the JX17 and 5 of them had a bad antenna coil.
Regards,
Gary

How does a bad antenna coil manifest itself in terms of operation? My JX17 has ceramic caps but I did have to dig into the rf deck for other reasons. I can't remember checking or even looking at the antenna coil - it's been a few years.

Document T.O. 31r2-4-101-2 is for the JX-21 series, how ever on page 52 it lists resistance readings for all the T and L parts in the unit. I have not seen this listed any where else. An excellent resource for most of the SP-600 manuals is at      \\http://www.jamminpower.com:8080/jp/

good luck
