Title: USA AM +/- 3700 3705 3885
Post by: pe1mph on December 13, 2008, 01:32:41 AM
Hello AM lovers,

This morning (in Holland) I heard AM on +/- 3700 from USA.
I heard Don and more....
But often SSB on that freq.
So not to do for me to get more names or calls.

Between 6 - 7 hour our time I were speaking with 9H1ES and F6AQK on 3705.
Good conditions....

Not possible to hear AM on 3885, because strong 'digitale-station' on 3882.

Greetings,

Henk

Hi Henk,

I enjoy getting on AM on 3.705.  When I was a novice in the 60's, it was one of my favorite frequencies using my Globe Scout 65A.  In fact, as soon as the USA phone privileges were expanded, I resurrected the crystal and put it into one of my boat anchors!

I was listening to 3.705 last evening as I was working on the bench.   Before retiring to bed, I had a nice QSO with W8RPW and WA3PUN on 3.701.

Unfortunately, there are some US SSB operators who feel they now own 3.705 plus or minus 7 KHz at various times throughout the day.  I listen often and hear them actually acknowledge they “drove the AMers away” by deliberately QRMing them.  How sad.

I hope to actually work you someday.  I usually operate 50 or 100 watt class rigs near 3705, but I can easily fire up the heavy artillery if necessary!

I’ll be listening for you.

All the best,
Dave KA2J, Henrietta, NY

Hi Henk. I did not listen on 3705 last night. Propagation to Europe was good earlier but the QRN here increased during the evening. I don't think I would have been able to work you guys with the QRN. Maybe 14 December, 0500Z I will listen for you.

Oke AM lovers!
This morning I awake early and listen in our livingroom.
I were surprised: AM on +/- 3700 from the USA.
That must been around 05.20 hour our time.....
I am 100% sure I heard Don talking, or I can better say 'long' talking ;D
Then I walked to my (little) studio around 05.50 and still I heard AM on +/- 3701.
But, but SSB were comming up...... therefore I put my transmitter on air on 3705.
Till +/- 06.50 I talked with F6AQK and 9H1ES, both with fair to good signals.
While I was listening to 3705 my other receiver standing on +/- 3701.
And after 07.00 still AM on that freq. from the USA, but many (Germany's) SSB!

Greetings,

Henk
