Those 3 IF stages sure help but that is the only radio Ive seen that uses a power pentode in an IF stage. Guess it doesnt overload :) Im surprised the 20M MDS is that good, thats better than many riceboxes. It says something about Hammarlunds skill in minimizing circuit losses considering the tubes used.

My HQ-120X gets cycled into service along with the others that can actually be used on the bands.
