Title: Tewksbury Area Info Needed- NEARFEST Post by: Carl WA1KPD on September 14, 2008, 08:29:35 PM Last spring on the way up to Nearfest, K1VYU and I split the trip up and stayed Thursday night in Tewksbury. The next morning we set off under 495 looking for a place to have breakfast. Getting lost after much driving we stumbled into a GREAT place and want to hit it again. However we do not remember the town or name. Here is what we do remember
• It was defiantly north of Tewksbury. • It was in a moderate sized town and the center (?) was having some significant road work being done this Spring. This was not a one day effort but included detours and as I recall Jersey barriers • At the in town detour the local policeman pointed to a small place in small shopping area (3 stores?) and a parking lot. He highly recommended it for breakfast • The establishment was moving two doors down in the same complex in next week to a larger spot. People were signing the walls • As one entered the door, the area was long and narrow. The cashier was on the right with a pastry case. There were several rows of tables and booths • I seem to recall we turned out to be near 93. • It was real home-style non fancy cooking. • I think the name included the owners’ name “Mikes Place’ or something like that. This is critical. I have tried Google, Google maps etc with no luck. Anyone know what this place is named and in what town? Tnx and 73 Carl /KPD Title: Re: Tewksbury Area Info Needed- NEARFEST Post by: W1UJR on September 14, 2008, 09:47:39 PM Vic's Waffle House?

However we do not remember the town or name. I spent a lot of time years ago in that area for a company I used to work for and the only GREAT places I recall were a Thai restaurant in Lowell if you can believe it, a pizza place in Chelmsford that made awesome cheesesteaks ... and Macs Two in Billerica ;) Sam / KS2AM Title: Re: Tewksbury Area Info Needed- NEARFEST Post by: k3zrf on September 15, 2008, 08:36:28 PM Carl, AMfone - Dedicated to Amplitude Modulation on the Amateur Radio Bands
Is that seasoning on the eggs from the place you believe you ate or is it paint peeling from the walls from the place you believe you ate? Must have been a good night before 8) |
