I've been looking through schematics and various articles from old handbooks and QST when I came across some QSL cards and logbook of an old family friend (SK) who was very active back in the late 1930's and early 1940's. 40/20/10 Meter RF Deck - 6V6G tritet oscillator, 807 buffer/doubler, T40 final 160/80 RF Deck - 6L6G oscillator driving a 203A final His modulator had a 57 speech amp, 46 driver, and push-pull 46's in class B I'm thinking I'd really like to duplicate this rig as I like the modular approach and the power is just about what I'm looking for. His logs show about 100W on CWer and 75 on phone. Would this be difficult to implement? I've built some solid state gear over the years but I am still new to tubes and want to learn. However, I may need some help in the process. Thanks |
