Check out the audio vault for how well it works.

not sure exactly where it is but should be in preferences. you can also export as an .ogg file, it compresses as well or better than MP3 and is not proprietary. but not everyone has ogg-vorbis installed to play it back Title: Re: NEED SOUNCARD RECORDING SOFTWARE.. Tim. I don't use audacity but LAME is apparently another module you need to download from their website to create MP3's. FYI. I use Ham Radio Deluxe which is primarily used for computer control of a wide variety of rice boxes. HRD includes an easy-to-use "Audio Grabber" which will record audio from the Line-In of your sound card to mp3 files in convenient chunks and time-stamp them appropriately.
