Title: I always get a login prompt
Post by: W4EWH on March 14, 2008, 04:12:53 PM
G,

I'm always getting a "longin" prompt when I access amfone, i.e., the userid and password field always appear even though I chose the "forever" option when loging in. If I go to one of the forums, my avatar and "Show unread posts since last visit. " link comes up the way it should, even though I didn't log in at the prompt.

Please tell me how to fix this.

OK, I figured it out.

Below are the results of some dig queries: the problem is that both "amfone.net" and "www.amfone.net" are in the DNS as "A" records. Since they both point to the same place, I suggest that www.amfone.net be changed to a CNAME to make cookies work consistently.

HTH.
