Title: manual and experiences for SWAN 500 Post by: AMroo on January 24, 2008, 06:15:44 AM I have managed to get hold of a Swan 500 that used to belong to the previous holder of my call sign,
Who is now a SK,Call was VK2WF. He was a full on AMer. I would love to get it up and running, I will pick it up next week. Can another AMer help with a manual and or cct for this OB rig. I think they need a power supply what's a good way to build one up? a P/S that will run it up on low power may be a good option. Just want to run it up and work a few of his old buddies. Any experiences with them? Thanks for any help offered. Title: Re: manual and experiences for SWAN 500 Post by: WD8BIL on January 24, 2008, 07:22:06 AM Now that's a fine idea, Bloke ! Yep they are a bunch of OBs (I'm 55). It should give them a touch of nostalgia over their beers, it might even scare them.........mmmm I am a bit of a joker - no better not it might be seen as a lack of respect and he was a good guy. His old call sign is much sought after down under as it is what we call " a two letter call". The old boy nets were a bit hard to break into before but now they let me straight in so it does make a difference. I have met some of them so I thought it would be fun, although I know this is a bitch of a rig and like most of them it's heavily moded, and with no power supply. Do you know if they need a power supply haven't got it yet. But the power supply shouldn't be a huge challenge, just a big one cause I work at www.switchmode.com.au So looks like lots of work. |
