Title: I see Riley's not retiring after all.
Post by: W3RSW on October 30, 2007, 04:52:20 PM
A/c bulletin received from ARRL.
Interesting in that he has some issues in HR he wants to clean up.
He could start w/ 3992. That stellar bunch needs to discuss something besides how much they hate a mode they don't understand (or have receivers sufficient to hear it with.)

I'm sure the bigger pay/retirement package didn't hurt either.......

yep, all kinds of things that could use "tidying up"
3892, 3910, 3872 etc and so on, and on, and ON.....

Then there's the "texas star cw transmitters"

       "   I'm sure the bigger pay/retirement package didn't hurt either.......  "

It usually does not hurt ...........   But, If you can collect at, say, 55yrs old, you might be better off taking it and finding another job. Anyway,  how long has Riley been a Fed?

I'm glad that he's going to be around a little longer.

Yeah, well, here's what I just got from ARRL.  I'm glad to hear it.

ARRL Bulletin 24  ARLB024

To all radio amateurs

SB QST ARL ARLB024
ARLB024 Hollingsworth to Stay Put at FCC

Riley Hollingsworth, K4ZDH, Special Counsel for the FCC's
Enforcement Bureau, has decided not to retire.  He had announced
last week that he would leave the FCC in January 2008.

Riley states, "After spending the entire weekend thinking about the
decision [to retire], it became more and more clear to me that it
just isn't the right decision for me right now.  There are several
issues on the table that I want to continue to work through with the
amateur community."

The Enforcement Bureau is the primary organizational unit within the
Federal Communications Commission that is responsible for
enforcement of provisions of the Communications Act, the
Commission's rules, Commission orders and terms and conditions of
station authorizations, as well as enforcement of Amateur Radio
rules (Part 97).

Of course if you listen to a certain group just above the ghetto.....

He can't stand leaving while K1MAN is still broadcasting!

Oh, you've got to be KIDDING!  Is '1MAN still on the air?

You know, I'm not in favor of 'vigilante activity' but there are exceptions to every rule.
