Title: 500 volt ceramic, NPO and mica capacitors for SX100??
Post by: wa2dtw on May 14, 2007, 01:17:36 PM
It appears that I will have to replace some capacitors to get the SX100 to function properly on 75 meters.  They are:
C53 - 10 mmf 10% NPO 500 volt ceramic
C54 - 220 mmf 5% N330 500 v ceramic
C55 - 240 mmf 5% 500v mica (the only one in the Allied catalogue)
C57 - 11 mmf +/- 0.25 mmf N1500 500 v ceramic
C68 - 1000 mmf 5% N2200 500v ceramic
C70 - 100 mmf 10% 500v
C71 1 mmf 10% N750 55v ceramic

Does anyone know how I can obtain these?  The Allied catalogue lists only one, appropriate for C55.  AES and Newark electronics do not list any of these.

Thanks and 73

and

I'd go with silver mica in place of the ceramic caps. Also, I wouldn't replace 'em unless they really needed replacing.

"Justradios.com" = fast, excellent service, BTW.

I purchased some temperaure compensating caps when restoring my Hammarlund SP210 from Surplus Sales of Nebraska. If I remember correctly they were not very expensive.
