Title: GS-35b legal limit linear for 75 meters
Post by: AB2EZ on May 09, 2007, 07:58:48 AM
I tried out my newly built GS35b linear amplifier for the first time last night. It works!

I need to move the cathode bias supply wire in the filament supply/biasing circuitry (from the filament transformer secondary center tap to the side of the transformer secondary that connects to the cathode) to get rid of some hum... but other than that, it worked fine driven by my Ranger. Still lots of work left to add the front rack panels, and to integrate it all into a rack with nice meters, lights, etc.. You can see pictures of the major subassemblies/decks here:

Best regards
Stu

Nice work there. Where did you get the variable caps? are they homebrew?

Stu,
I heard your strapping signal last night. I have seen guys make tirfilar input chokes using tubes with cathodes. This way you can connect everything normal. fc
