Title: RF demodulators and samplers

I've been cruising over the internet trying to find some info on RF demodulators and RF samplers. I'd like to make up new one's to handle higher powered rigs, but info on the net falls short of getting the job done.

What do you guys that run a strapped TX out there use? Do you have any suggestions, either elaborate, or quick/dirty, to get a nice clean trace up on the display?

Any suggestions, ideas, prints, or whichever would be greatly appreciated.

Too fancy...

Just clip your 10X scope probe onto the RF.  For a NewEngland KW, use a 100X probe.

Your GPT-750 already has an RF sampler - that SO-239 right next to the antenner jack ;D

check the voltage rating of your scope probe first. I took out a nice one after a while

The derating factor on the newer, "cheep' probs can be an eye opener.....   My Tektronix nock-off is rated at 600 Vdc @ 30KHz and then 100Vdc at 3MHz...   I guess u getz wat u pay for.........   klc

Yeah, but I don't trust it not to blast my scope, lol. I should check the output level for the hell of it, but I think I'll wind up making one of the gizmo's Steve listed above.

GX, I love the comment on the New England KW. Look at it like this; the more juice you run when it's cold out, the more heat the gear puts into the room, the less fuel oil you burn. That'll be the excuse I give the judge.
