Title: Pulse service 4-400 tubes Post by: Tom W2ILA on April 28, 2007, 09:04:56 AM I have a pair of 4PR400 Eimacs (8188).
These are the pulsar version of the 4-400 "suited for long pulses". Are these suitable plug-ins for standard 4-400 equipped transmitters (t-368)? Eric, WB4VVI (SK) believed that the everything was little more on the 'heavy duty' side since they were rated for pulse service. For years he ran a pair in his Globe King 500 "E" model, (AKA a modified CCA 1000D modulated by 833's), with out any ill effects.

To the best of my knowledge the pulse rated tubes are just a little higher grade of their standard versions. (and acually a litle more desireable). Many people have been using them for replacements for many years without any problems.
