Or you could order a set of these (http://www.referenceaudiomods.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=NOB_C37_C).

I'm sure they would be happy to custom make you a couple of toilet seats as well.

Don,
I used these to replace those ugly knobs on my National SW-3 (which I tossed in the garbage). The C37 lacquer  on the beech wood and bronze made a huge differnce. The sound became much more open and free flowing with a nice improvement in resolution. Dynamics are better and overall naturalness is improved. I love listening to the Macaroni net now.

They should have improved the selectivity and increased image rejection, too.

What a croc of .....

I guess they paid for their wood lathe with one sale. Just goes to show that if you sell it, some sucker will buy it.

If you change out the VFO knob, they'll eliminate any drift you may have had before also. They can be ordered with a special 'carved in' product detector if you want one for the BFO.

Is different wood needed for for solid state radios vs tubes?

If so, what if you have a rig like the 520 that uses both?

Will this stuff be in the new FCC exams?

I'm getting a headache and need to take my meds.

Try removing the bakelite knobs and listen. You will be shocked by this! The signature knobs will have an even greater effect…really amazing! The point here is the micro vibrations created by the volume pots and knobs find their way into the delicate signal path and cause degradation (Bad vibrations equal bad sound). With the signature knobs micro vibrations from the C37 concept of wood, bronze and the lacquer itself compensate for the volume pots and provide (Good Vibrations) our ear/brain combination like to hear…way better sound!!

In other words, they are telling their customers that their mighty Silver Rock potentiometer is a microphonic piece of crap!

Don, as usual your BSoMeter is cutting edge.

Actually all knobs should be removed from all critical freq. capacitors and/or volume/band pass potentiometers.
Everybody knows that's why slotted and lockable shafts were invented.

All my gear is nothing but slotted shafts and a wise old ham once told me, "Mr. EX 3YPI, you'd get way better alignment if you'd cut off all your screwdrivers right at the shaft."

So I did and the S/N ratio has improved markedly.  No oxycotten conductor/insulator problems either.
