I have been playing with WINDRM (digital radio mondale) and the results have been nothing short of spectacular! Excellent quality and signal to noise. The received signal can be so weak you cant see it on the receiver and you still get a full quality voice signal using the SDR1000 FLEX RADIO. The signal is only 2.8khz wide and doesnt "splatter" like all analog modes do.

At 2.8 kHz bandwidth of the digital signal, do you still get audio frequency response and voice quality comparable to the analogue signals transmitted by the better sounding amateur AM signals on the air to-day?

The German DRM station at 3995 kHz is a full 10 kHz wide, but I'm not sure what kind of audio they are attempting to transmit.

Yes you DO get FULL fidelity-music quality audio in a 2.8khz bandwidth, that's the amazing thing about drm.

Bill do you need an I/Q input to the sound card or just a low IF? 
one of my Racals has a 6.4 KHz baseband output or i could use the unit with the homebrew I/Q at 7.625 KHz gfz

In another 20 seconds, you'll be "transmitting" in DRM on the ham bands...

Just the output of your sound card. It is designed for 11khz wide sound card.
